tweber is a division of TWC of America, a US manufacturer/Distributor and Importer. TWC has been supplying retail stores with unique, quality products since 1986!

Originally called 'tweber and companions, TWC was started by Terry and Tracy Weber, a husband and wife team, out of their home in Wisconsin. Back then, it was never intended to be much more than a hobby, as the name reflected. In fact many thought the Weber’s had a speech impairment when they stated their company's name, pronounced 'twe..ber' and thought they were from Russia because of the 'companions' vs 'company' name. We still laugh today, remembering that tweber was a result of their first initials and last name, and the 'companions' were their two sons, although quite young at the time, they have since played an important role in the company's growth. Despite the confusion surrounding their name, they were able to turn their woodworking hobby, passion for exploring nature and related business experiences into a full fledged company.

Since then, we have changed our company name, and now market products under two brand names, 'tweber' and 'ento Products' and we distribute other quality brands such as 'SunsOut', an extensive, American made line of jigsaw puzzles, at a national level. Today TWC of America offers more than 700 quality products to retailers and consumers through out the country and in other parts of the world.

Since the beginning, our mission has been to provide products that in a way, give back more than they cost. Products that serve a purpose. In fact many of our products could be called tools.

Starting out, we focused on products like butterfly nets and bug boxes, which we call Nature Houses. These are tools that children use to help them catch, observe and learn about what many refer to as miniatures dinosaurs, insects. Oddly, and in some cases, monster shaped creatures that live all around us. Unfortunately, many of us have gone through life without ever having our eyes opened to their beauty and magic. Or, maybe, as Peter Pan said, we grew up! And, in so doing we forgot how to enjoy some of the simplest pleasures in life.

Today, tweber now provides products for children of all ages and for all seasons. As we mention on our Home Page, tweber specializes in old fashion toys/tools, products that not only provide entertainment, but products that help children learn, products that have been tested by many generations of children, products that are timeless and products that are always in demand!

As with all of our products, a great deal of research is done before a product is added to our line. If we can't improve on what is currently available on the market it won't be added.

A recent example of this is one of our latest additions, 'My Best Sewing Cards'. Sewing/Lacing cards have been around for ever and young children just love them! The problem is that they have always been made out of cardboard and the laces were either yarn or shoestrings. The card board would bend and tear, the laces would get fussy and fray and both the cards and laces would get so dirty that parents or teachers would finally just throw them away. Although some manufactures have tried to improve on some of these drawbacks, this product had remained pretty much the same since first being introduced many decades ago until we introduced 'My Best Sewing Cards'.

To make ours the best cards ever, we wanted to drastically improve their wear ability, entertainment and educational value. We first chose a material that wouldn't tear and one which could be washed and sanitized over and over again. Next, we made them more interactive. Rather than just print pretty pictures on them, we printed our cards with coloring book style images, used a material that could be colored on over and over again and included washable crayons with each collection. We printed the name of each image in both English and in Spanish to help children to learn word association in both languages and we printed the English alphabet around the perimeter of each card adjacent to each hole to be laced. Although we didn't invent sewing/lacing cards, we feel that 'My Best Sewing Cards' have reintroduced them with modern day standards and expectations and provide our customers with the quality and value that they have come to expect from tweber!
